Welcome to Neither Here nor There…. my humble little corner of the interwebs dedicated to opinions, writing and a little bit of everything else. I’m sure you have a lot of questions so let’s get started.

Who are you?

My name is Rafael R. Piñero, I live in Puerto Rico and I’m a writer. I’m an alum of the University of Puerto Rico and have a Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Lansing, M.I. But I’ve always been first and foremost a writer and I hope to be published in the near future, but that, like this blog, is a work in progress. Then again, so is everything in life.

A writer, eh? So what do you write?

A little bit of everything. My favorite genres are science fiction, urban fantasy and high fantasy. Truth be told I write whatever strikes my fancy. The blog has multiple examples open for your perusal.

Such as?

If you peek into the life of a minor celebrity then go ahead and check out Changing of the Seasons. Not big on action, but does have a lot of quite drama moments and quirky humor.  Those who love games and cyberpunk should take a gander at The Gate while Urban Fantasy fans can sink their teeth into Wizards’ World War.

Okay, lots of short stories, but have you written anything longer?

Like a novel? Yes. At least three, with three more on the planning stages. The first one was borne right here and gave the blog its name. I’m in the process of querying that one while I edit the other two.

You give a lot of writing advice, but you’re not a published author? Isn’t that a bit presumptuous?

Just a bit. Truth be told I’m no master of the written word and never will be. However I picked up a few tricks along the way and I want to share them with fellow writers. Feel free to burst my ego bubble at any time.

What else are you into?

You mean, what else do I like? Games, either tabletop RPGs or the console/computer variety. I’ve been a gamer for a very long time *cough*Atari2600*cough*. The best of today’s games combine great graphics with solid interfaces and fantastic writing.

I’m also a Harry Potter fan, both the books and movies and even dared to write a few pieces of fan fiction. I’ve posted them here and I’ll leave it up to you to decide if they are any good.

Does your blog have any special features?

Yes. I developed a format of sorts. Each post starts with the Tweet of the Day, which is a link to either a fellow writer’s blog or an interesting article/post/video followed by the body of posts and finally a video because I like to share with my readers something either musical or funny.

You mentioned Tweeter, are you a member of any other social networks?

I’m on Tweeter under @RafaWriter. Feel free to give me a shout out. As for others, I don’t like to spread myself too thin on the internet, but I don’t discount the possibility of switching or joining other sites.

How often do you blog?

I blog daily, unless Rea Life™ gets in the way. I try to maintain a regular schedule of posts with the following themes:

• TV Tropes Monday. As a rabid fan of the website I use it to highlight tropes and how writers can use them
• Tuesdays and Thursdays are serial days with Wizards’ World War and Ambrosius the Warlord.
• Fridays I post under the rubric of Space for Rent where in I either I talk about the blog itself or other subjects that are not strictly writing related. WARNING: String opinions abound of a legal, political, social and personal nature.
• Saturdays I run a weekly recap called the Weekend Roundup. Most people are too busy to keep up with the day to day blog so this allows them to catch up.
• I’m also a contributor to NERD TREK, a net magazine for all things gaming, tech and a little of everything else.
