Knowledge-Based Education – We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.
Yes, this is part of the party platform on a state level party in the U.S. Sure, it is not at the national level and no serious politician would say such a thing….

“Oh MY GOD!” said the agnostic blogger on his writing blog. No, this is just, no I don’t want to believe it (sees another news report, then another, then a convention).
Really? A brazen call to ignorance? Is this what the political process has come to? Not that the other side is doing a better job. Yes, a lot of stuff about hope but mix in with messianic messaging, a call to fear (we are sane they are crazy) and capped by a priest that has no business being a political podium in the first place.
But none of this is new, of course. I think the problem is we expect that, somehow, it will be different this time, that yes, things are changing for the better. Then you scratch the surface and it is the same bloody, sophomoric mess.
