Space for Rent: But You’re Not….

Tweet of the Day: I am a woman who games, not a “gamer” girl”

——–

I’m not gay.

I’m not a woman.

I’m not Africa-American.

And so on and so forth.

So why have I used this space to discuss issues relating to groups I am no part of?

It boils down to rights: mine, yours, everybody with a dash of “Do the right thing.”

Self-righteous much, eh?

True, nobody perfect, let alone me. But think about for a second. Do you think that discriminating against anyone is right? Do you think is going to stop with “them”? Hang around someone who stands against social progress long enough and they will always, ALWAYS, talk about rolling back rights, your rights.  And if you don’t stand with “them” who with stand with you?

I’m not a great political activist, only a writer, but that will not stop me from speaking my mind and supporting those who I believe need it.

It may not be enough.

Still the right thing to do.

  1. I consider myself a supporter of humanity, which is an evolutionary process. The Constitution should always be amended to be “inclusive” rather than “exclusive”. That is why it has been amended throughout history to “include” the rights of blacks to vote and then the rights of women to do the same.

I would have been miserable were I born before this century! Change is slow, but I’m only one person, so I don’t stress about it, but I also don’t vote for the first person who claims they believe the same as me. Just because you believe in equal rights for all people, doesn’t mean you know how to run a country. 😀

That’s why you will never see a sign “Diane Carlisle for *insert any political title here*.
