Tweet of the Day: Elements of Style (Comic)
This will be a short post. The excellent Polenth Blake at Polenth’s Quill wrote an equally short post around a panel of the xkcd webcomic. She was curious about the stylistic reasons of drawing certain stick figures with hair while most of them did not have it (women and balding men have it all the other males do not), which got me to thinking about the tiny choices we as writers make in our own stories.
Our voices stand on these choices, but because so many of them are so small, we hardly notice them. I couldn’t tell you about mine simply because I don’t know. But I’m sure I’ve made them.
How about you, can you tell?
