My 30 Days of Writing-Day 22:Secret Scenes

Okay, how do I answer the following question:

22. Tell us about one scene between your characters that you’ve never written or told anyone about before! Serious or not.

without spoiling?

Okay, I’ll give a try. Kind of hard to do because I’m a discovery writer. I don’t know the details of specific character moments until they happen. Even when I do an outline, I concentrate on plot points, not character moments, per say. If I were to chose a moment between characters, then I would have to chose the time when Michelle found out some naughty pictures another girl had just sent to Michael’s (her boyfriend) mobile.

I wrote the second part of that scene, because the story is told from Anthony’s point of view, who happens to be a) Michael’s brother, and b) in adjacent room with Michelle’s sister. Michele has nursed a soft spot for Michael for quite some time, but Michael has, for a variety of reasons, kept her close, but not too close. As close as friends can be without being truly intimate. But Michael’s recent loss of his mother has made him realize that Michelle means more to him that he was willing to admit. So finally, the two brothers and their significant others, who happen to sisters (not to the brother’s by the way, get your mind out of the gutter!) ended up in a hotel in Cardiff and are about to spend some quality time with each other.

Considering how long Michelle has waited for this, and how mercurial she can be, having the perfect moment ruined not simply by a phone call, but a booty call via sex-pic through the telephone must have been devastating to experience and see. I feel bad for Michelle although technically speaking Michael was not cheating on her.

But wounded heart knows no reason….

So there you go. I hope that fits the bill
