NaNo 2010

The countdown to NaNo 2010 has begun, but I’m afraid I’m not going to participate this year.  Already writing a book, and have two others in the revision/revising/querying stage so I have very little mental energy left over for NaNo (which requires a lot of said energy). Are you up for NaNo 2010? ——–

I’m a Hybrid!

I’m a discovery writer. That also does outlines. I thought that doing an outline would kill my inventiveness. That once I wrote it, it was just a matter of filling in the blanks. How wrong I was. I won’t say I will outline every project. So far I haven’t needed to outline my short stories, […]

My 30 Days of Writing-Days 29/30:End of the Line

Sorry for missing yesterday’s deadline. But in a strange way, answering these two questions in the same post brings a bit of symmetry to the end of this meme. So lets get to it, shall we? 29. How often do you think about writing? Ever come across something IRL that reminds you of your story/characters? […]

My 30 Days of Writing-Day 28: What The Blind See

28. Have you ever written a character with physical or mental disabilities? Describe them, and if there’s nothing major to speak of, tell us a few smaller ones. Another question I have to answer in the negative.  Well, there is one exception, the Seer from SuD, who as you might imagine is blind. But of […]

My 30 Days of Writing-Day 27:The Clothes Make the Man

27. Along similar lines, do appearances play a big role in your stories? Tell us about them, or if not, how you go about designing your characters. Yes, and no. Every character in my stories have a concept, which can be narrow down to a single word. This concept could be visual, but not necessaraly […]

My 30 Days of Writing-Day 26: Draw your own conclusions

26. Let’s talk art! Do you draw your characters? Do others draw them? Pick one of your OCs and post your favorite picture of him! Those who can’t, don’t bother. I’ve commissioned art for my stories and characters, and I like to think I’m a very visual person, but I’m incapable of drawing anything, at […]

My 30 Days of Writing-Day 25: My Little Buddy

Turning the corner on this here writing question meme: 25. Do any of your characters have pets? Tell us about them. Yes. Oh yes. I like pets. Thus my characters have them. I like to give them a pet, something other than a human being to relate to. I think the most important of them […]

My 30 Days of Writing-Day 24: Death in the pages

Pic, funny, filler, carry on…. 23. How willing are you to kill your characters if the plot so demands it? Of course, what a silly question. Next…. What’s the most interesting way you’ve killed someone? Oh no, dammit, not again! Why, oh why, do you insist that I spoil myself. I can’t tell you that! […]

My 30 Days of Writing-Day 23: It Never Ends

23. How long does it usually take you to complete an entire story—from planning to writing to posting (if you post your work)? Well, when it comes to short stories, I write them on the blog and post them the very same day. Novels on the other hand take quite a bit longer. I’m averaging […]

My 30 Days of Writing-Day 22:Secret Scenes

Okay, how do I answer the following question: 22. Tell us about one scene between your characters that you’ve never written or told anyone about before! Serious or not. without spoiling? Okay, I’ll give a try. Kind of hard to do because I’m a discovery writer. I don’t know the details of specific character moments […]
